Pros and Cons of the Nintendo Switch Split Pad
Pros
- The provides greater precision and accuracy when gaming
- Compared to Joy-Con, it is far more comfortable.
- Great feeling when handheld, and equally comfortable in the dock mode
- Comes with Turbo function
- It has remappable back paddles
Cons
- It has no NFC, Motion Controls, or rumble thus limiting your gaming experience
- The device would not fit in a Nintendo Switch Case
- It only works when connected to a console or dock
Verdict
Nintendo Split Pad Pro is an excellent Joy-Con alternative. It offers far better comfort and handling during play while providing extra precision. You will get a lot out of the handheld gaming device as a gamer. However, the need to be tethered to the console or hooked to the dock station limits your movement and fun. The lack of NFC, Motion Controls, or rumble does no favors. Nevertheless, if you are after a more ergonomic experience, the Split Pad Pro is the best in the business right now and is at a favorable price, too.
